Reactive Power Converter
Reactive power, or VAr, is merely the product of out-of-phase volts and amperes and is not actually power at all. The component of energy known as reactive power aids in creating and maintaining the electric and magnetic fields needed by alternating current equipment. Similar to active power, reactive power is positive when it is "provided" and negative when it is "consumed," and the quantity of reactive power present in an AC circuit depends on the phase shift or phase angle between the voltage and the current.
