Binary to Decimal

A binary number is converted to its decimal equivalent in order to represent it in the decimal number system. To represent numbers, we need a number system. Every number system has a base, and the base of a number system is determined by how many digits are employed in total. For instance, the binary number system, which uses only two digits to represent any integer, has a base of 2. Similar to this, the decimal number system, which uses 10 digits to represent numbers, also has a base of 10.
